How did it start?
How the conflict is developing & what is happening now
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a complex and ongoing conflict that has been going on for more than a century. It began with the arrival of Jewish immigrants to Palestine in the late 19th century and the subsequent establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.
The conflict has its roots in the competing claims to the land by both the Jewish and Palestinian communities. Palestinians have been living in the area for centuries, and they view it as their ancestral homeland. Jews, on the other hand, have a deep connection to the land as the site of their biblical homeland.
The conflict has been characterized by violence, displacement, and a lack of trust between the two sides. It has resulted in numerous wars and countless deaths and injuries on both sides. The conflict has also had a profound impact on the region and has contributed to tensions and instability throughout the Middle East.

The two sides have engaged in peace talks and negotiations over the years, but a lasting peace agreement has remained elusive. The issues at the heart of the conflict are complex and deeply rooted, including borders, security, settlements, refugees, and the status of Jerusalem.

Has the international community influenced?
The international community has played a significant role in the conflict, with various countries and organizations advocating for peace and attempting to broker agreements between the two sides. However, progress has been slow, and many believe that a solution to the conflict will only come from a genuine willingness by both sides to compromise and work towards a shared future.
Despite the ongoing conflict, there have been instances of cooperation and collaboration between Israelis and Palestinians, demonstrating that peaceful coexistence is possible.
However, until a comprehensive and lasting solution is reached, the conflict will continue to shape the lives of those living in the region and beyond.
what is news agenda?
News agenda refers to the set of topics, issues, events and individuals covered by the news media at a particular point in time. News agendas are shaped by a variety of factors, including the journalistic values of journalists and editors, the interests of media owners and advertisers, and the perceived interests of viewers. The news agenda can also be influenced by external factors such as political, economic and social events, and the actions of government officials, activists and other key players. News agendas play a critical role in shaping public opinion and influencing the way people perceive and interpret the world around them.
What do CNN (the USA media) and Al Jazeera (Qatar media) report for the same event?
  • CNN

On May 21, 2021 , Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressed the UN General Assembly and condemned the Israeli war against Palestinian civilians. Later, Qureshi gave an interview to CNN in which he accused Israel of "controlling the media" and said that the Israeli side was "heading for defeat". However, these statements were interrupted on the spot by the CNN anchor and quickly interpreted to mean "anti-Semitic"
  • Al Jazeera

Al Jazeera, on the other hand, focused more on how violence was used on the Israeli side. The media reported the detention of 350 people at the Al-Aqsa mosque in JerusalemAt least 350 people were arrested by Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

The conflict has had a real impact on people. It has devastated their lives. And the biggest victims of every armed conflict are always ordinary people.

What do
Palestinian students tell?
The interviews highlight the importance of media outlets remaining objective and honest in their reporting, particularly when covering sensitive and complex issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. By doing so, media outlets can help to better represent the stories and experiences of Palestinian people, rather than perpetuating inaccurate or biased narratives.
As I said earlier, it should be as clear as possible, with video pictures and other visuals because the viewers right now can't believe anything that easily unless you prove it.

The root of people's opinions about news coverage lies in the media's agenda setting and the media's position.
In our interviews, the vast majority of people interviewed said that CNN was not covering the conflict objectively, or at least they expressed more or less dissatisfaction with CNN's coverage. Compared with CNN, they found Al Jazeera's coverage more realistic.
It is necessary to choose a visual aid that is appropriate for the topic and audience.

A 2022 Pew survey, "Modest Warming in U.S. Views on Israel and Palestinians," shows that in recent years, U.S. public opinion has been The U.S. public's attitude toward both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been slightly positive in recent years. Overall, Americans continue to express more positive feelings toward the Israeli people than toward the Palestinians - and rate the Israeli government higher than the Palestinian government.

The survey noted that two-thirds of Americans express at least some favorable feelings toward the Israeli people, with one in five saying they have a very favorable view of Israelis. Perceptions of the Palestinian people are more muted: 52 percent of the public has a favorable view, and one in 10 American adults has a very favorable view of the Palestinians. On an age scale, adults under 30 are more likely than older Americans to dislike Israelis and prefer Palestinians. Younger adults are far less positive about the Israeli government than older Americans. But compared with 2019 , adults under 30 now have somewhat better views of the Palestinian government.

It is easy to see that the media plays an extremely important role in influencing public opinion.
This is not the first time CNN has been biased in favor of Israel.

Al Jazeera, on the other hand, focused more on how violence was used on the Israeli side.

CNN and Al Jazeera in fact represent the positions of two countries - Israel and Palestine, respectively
This stems from political positions and national interests, which is understandable, but also inevitably leads to a crisis of confidence in the media, where the media agenda is set to make people doubt the truthfulness of the news.

In a conversation between Wesley Lowery and Mohamed Younis entitled "What's Driving Record-Low Trust in News Media?" published in Gallup on August 11, 2022, it was noted that "Maybe not all of it; there are a ton of people doing nonpolitics. Throwing all the attention at is politics, politics, politics, which is the most divisive, the most -- in some ways extremely complicated"

    What we want to say
The project is over, but the questions aren't
Media coverage of the conflict has been extensive, with various perspectives and opinions being represented. However, the stories of those directly affected by the conflict, particularly the Palestinian people, have often been overlooked or misrepresented in mainstream media. We want to find a way for the media to truly represent the people and not be an appendage of the others.
May the world be at peace.
