UP TITLE

Let's move on to the concept of digital journalism.

Digital journalism (also known as Internet journalism, web journalism, etc.) is a modern form of journalism in which

information is disseminated via the Internet, as opposed to being published in print, broadcast on television and radio.

Modern media are moving towards multi-platform production and distribution of content. A journalist creates his material not for a single channel of communication (newspaper or website), but for multichannel distribution. These are different platforms with their own features and tools (instagram, telegram, TikTok and etc.). So we decided to communicate with expert and find out some tendencies and instruments in social networks, which works today.

What trends do you highlight in the development of Instagram?
    Sultanbek:
Instagram began to pay more attention to video content. After the influence of TikTok, static content no longer works as effectively, so Instagram had to adapt to the current conditions. And now we see how Reels shoot more than usual posts, they also added music to the posts so that at least somehow this remains their feature.
  • Aisulu:
What can you say about the trend in the development of TikTok?
    Sultanbek:
TikTok’s history with short videos has already passed, they realized that short content has a big drawback - it’s advertising. It is difficult to fit a good advertisement, which is likely to lead a person to action, into a running time of up to 15-30 seconds, since this is the minimum length of the video itself, not counting the advertising insert. For this reason, they have now begun to introduce videos up to 3-5 minutes and monetize them more to attract creators.
  • Aisulu:
What do you think about the rise of generative AI? Has this technology made your job easier or more difficult?
    Sultanbek:
AI has become an excellent tool for many people who have been able to master it. When used correctly, it becomes a tool that speeds up the work process significantly and increases efficiency. Now many people can fully embrace the content creation process with artificial intelligence, which frees up the work of an entire production team. But you also need to take into account that a person’s taste and views cannot be replaced. Artificial intelligence will not have such a valuable look as a certain person and a piece of the soul.
  • Aisulu:
What strategies can be used to build long-term relationships with bloggers and keep them interested in a product or brand?
    Sultanbek:
It is important to build mutually beneficial relationships based on trust and mutual understanding. This includes providing unique and quality content, rewarding bloggers for their work (for example, by paying for content or providing free product samples), regular interaction and feedback, and creating personalized offers and promotions for bloggers to make them feel valued team members.
  • Aisulu:
What are the implications of algorithm changes on popular social media platforms?
    Sultanbek:
Algorithm changes can have a variety of impacts, including changes in the organic visibility of content, increases or decreases in advertising effectiveness, changes in the types of content supported by algorithms, and impacts on audience interaction and engagement. This may lead to the need to revise your content marketing strategy, adapt to new algorithm requirements, and in-depth study of audience behavior.
Note: By organic visibility, our expert means the number of users who see certain content on a social media platform without the use of paid advertising. This content appears in the news feed or search results due to its relevance and appeal to the audience, not due to placement fees.
